Fractured Faith Journal: A 45-Day Journal to Help You Reconstruct Your Faith
After most fractures, a course of Physical Therapy helps set you back into a rhythm of healthy activity. I like to think of this journal as your course of Physical Therapy, meant to help you walk back into new rhythms of delight that draw you back into the waiting arms of your loving Father.
Each day’s reading takes less than ten minutes and includes:
Start with two minutes of silence
Read (short passage of Scripture)
Reflect (some of my thoughts about the passage)
Respond (a question with a space for you to journal your thoughts)
Rest (a prayer)
End with two minutes of silence
Many of the Church Fathers used a daily practice called the Offices to experience God’s presence throughout each day. Holy men of God have stopped multiple times a day to pray as far back as Scriptures record it. Daniel did it. So did David. Come to think of it, Jesus, our Savior, took time several times a day to be with His Father. Jesus knew that nothing would reconstruct our faith faster than the regular intake of our Father’s love.
The last thing I want to give you is another system for your Christian life. The last thing I’m trying to create for you is more work, leading to spiritual exhaustion. But deep in your soul you know that there is a Savior who daily waits for you to run into his open arms for rest. This journal is my meager invitation back into His arms.
P.S. If you’ve read my book “Fractured Faith,” then you’ll recognize that the week’s titles in this journal reflect the chapters in my book. You can use this journal as a stand-alone journal, or as a companion to the book.
